Choosing the right nicotine strength for your vape device
Most e-liquid suppliers sell their e-liquids in strengths ranging between 0-24 milligrams of nicotine per ml of e-liquid. They usually offer multiple strengths in the same flavour, allowing users to slowly taper down their dosage whilst continuing to get the same flavour hit – this helps users to adjust to the change and feel as if they haven’t majorly changed their routine or given something up, it can be a powerful tool for helping people to quit successfully or curb an addiction.
Heavy Smokers
If you were a heavy pack-a-day smoker then the most appropriate nicotine content is probably going to be 12 milligrams. This is most appropriate if you smoke a lot of cigarettes every day, such as twenty-thirty or so cigarettes. Heavier nicotine content usually gives a greater throat hit, which most heavier smokers prefer, and will help with managing cigarettes and nicotine cravings throughout the day.
Average smoker
If you were a light-to-moderate smoker than 6 milligrams of nicotine will probably be most suitable. This is a nice medium amount appropriate for the tolerance of most people; if you’re just switching over to vaping then this is a great place to start. It will feel similar for most smokers to their typical nicotine consumption, and for those who want to cut down their nicotine consumption it makes a great jumping off point before tapering down.
For heavier users, it’s a great idea to start to switch to 6 mg e-juice instead of 12 mg e-juice, slowly increasing the frequency to help your body adapt to the change.

Trying to Quit Smoking?
If you’re trying to quit altogether and cut your consumption to zero then 3 mg is a great transitional quantity of nicotine to use. You might first try using this interchangeably with a higher dosage, like the 6 mg, before cutting down to 3 mg. Once you’re at this point you can start to switch in nicotine free canisters before kicking the habit altogether.
If you never smoked
If you weren’t a smoker, we would prefer you did not take up vaping as our health authorities maintain that people that never smoked take up vaping just to be sociable.
